Last session the legislature passed SB1431(the voucher bill) despite being opposed by all legislative Democrats and thousands of voters. This measure will take funding from our classrooms and give it to private schools.
A group of statewide, grassroots parents and teachers formed Save Our Schools Arizona to circulate a referendum to put this measure on the ballot for voters to decide. They have a lot of work to accomplish in a very short time as the law requires them to submit a minimum of 75,321 valid signatures by Aug. 8, 2017.
The Arizona Democratic Party State Committee passed a resolution supporting this referendum at the May 20th meeting. We ask all Democrats to lend their support to this important effort as Arizona’s classrooms are in crisis and desperately needs funding.
You can help Save Our Schools in a variety of ways:
· Sign up to volunteer! Visit SOSarizona.org today! They need people to carry petitions, perform data entry, verify signatures, drive petitions, etc. There is room for everyone to help, regardless of your skillset or personal situation!

SOS aims to show Governor Ducey that Arizona will not support the Betsy DeVos voucher system, and that we will always put our kids and our community schools first. Strong schools make a strong state – help us Save Our Schools!
Do not delay! The clock is ticking and there are less than 60 days to submit the signatures.
