2020 Senate Race Blasts Off

Mark Kelly became the first Democrat to throw his hat into the 2020 U.S. Senate race.

On February 12 — Lincoln’s Birthday — Mark Kelly became the first Democrat to run against Martha McSally in the 2020 U.S. Senate race. Lincoln faced a country divided much like what we have today. Mark is a candidate who will work to bring us together.

Mark is running on the issues that all Democrats and all Arizonans care about: access to quality affordable health care, better wages for working families, and creating jobs in Arizona.

Martha McSally is a terribly flawed candidate whose record was rejected by a majority of Arizonans in November 2018; yet, Ducey appointed her to fill John McCain’s position in the Senate. We can do better.

Martha McSally voted to gut Arizonans’ health care and then lied about it, she embraced the right-wing politics of Kelli Ward and Donald Trump, and she supported the longest government shutdown in U.S. history.

Note: We do not endorse candidates prior to primaries but we are committed to informing our readers about all Democratic candidates. Another potential Senate candidate, Congressman Ruben Gallego, is exploring competing in the race.
