Let’s be clear: From 2012-2019, local police in Arizona – including Tucson, Phoenix, Mesa, Glendale and Scottsdale – have killed people at a higher rate than the national average (https://mappingpoliceviolence.org/cities). The victims have been disproportionately black, brown and indigenous.

Governor Doug Ducey’s answer is to praise the police and impose a curfew. Is anyone still wondering why folks are so angry?
