HB 2609 – OPPOSE – Harquahala Non-Expansion Area: Groundwater Transfer.  It allows landowners (private water investment companies) to extract water to a depth of 1500’ rather than the current limit of 1000’ and transport it to an active management area.. Harquahala Valley is west and southwest of Phoenix.  This allows more groundwater to be used in irrigation.

HB 2111 – OPPOSE – Allows counties (such as Cochise and Yuma) that have adopted water adequacy provisions for subdivisions to rescind them unanimously.  Once rescinded they cannot be re-adopted for 5 years.

HB 2271 – SUPPORT – Establishes Public Land Day as a non-legal holiday on the first Saturday of April.

HCM 2005 – OPPOSE – Asks congress to NOT designate the Great Bend of the Gila River as a national monument.  Such a designation is supported by a number of Native American tribes to protect a substantial amount of cultural resources.
