June 17 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

The Democrats of the Red Rocks (DORR) Breakfast at Home will host “Forest and Red Rocks” with Randi Shaffer from the US Forest Service and Anne Glickstein and Jerry Piepiora from Friends of the Forest on Thursday, June 17th at 10:00 am on zoom. Sedona is surrounded by forest and red rocks. Learn how the US Forest Service and Friends of the Forest care for the land–from fires to dispersed camping to graffiti. Randi Shaffer is the Deputy Public Affairs Officer for the Coconino National Forest based in Flagstaff. Prior to joining the US Forest Service, she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ukraine and worked as a journalist in both Chicago and her home state of Michigan. Anne Glickstein joined Friends of the Forest in 2018 when she moved to Sedona, and became its President in 2020. Glickstein was given the Friends of the Forest “New Volunteer of the Year” award in 2019, and has been working to restart programs that were shut down due to COVID 19. Jerry Piepiora joined Friends of the Forest in 2008 and has been Chair of the Graffiti Removal team for seven years. Piepiora has also been part of the City of Sedona‘s work group evaluating the many issues surrounding off road vehicles.

DORR is an all-volunteer Democratic Club for Sedona, the Village of Oak Creek, the Verde Valley, and surrounding communities that welcomes all independent-minded citizens. For more information, please visit: http://democratsoftheredrocks.org
