April 13 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
You may have heard about Georgia’s voter suppression bills – well we have a number of voter suppression bills going through the AZ legislature too! Time is of the essence – these bills are likely to pass their second chamber next week, and then be signed into law by Gov. Ducey. These bills include:
- SB1485 aka PEVL purge – voters who do not vote by mail in one of 4 specific elections within 2 years will be removed from the Permanent Early Voter List.
- SB1713 – this will require voters to send in a copy of their ID with their mailed ballot.
…and there are more bills in the works.
We need to fight back so these bills don’t make it harder for Arizonans to vote in the next election! Please join volunteers on Tuesday, April 13 from 6-8 pm as we reach out to Republican legislators who campaigned as bipartisan and moderate, only to turn around and support these bills. Let’s remind them that voter suppression is NOT part of a functioning democracy.
