The Power of Native Organizers

April 25 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

In November of 2020, we all saw the razor-thin margin of victory for Biden/Harris in Arizona. When the count was finalized, it was clear that years of Native organizing on tribal lands had delivered that win. Learn what it will take to ensure that Arizona stays Blue despite the GOP’s efforts to suppress Native votes.

On Sunday, April 25th at 10 -11:30am Pacific/1-2:30pm Eastern join na virtual brunch with Jaynie Parrish, current Executive Director of the Navajo County Democrats and special guests. During the 2020 campaign Jaynie was the Director of the Arizona Native Organizing Campaign aka Northeast Arizona Native Democrats, a project of the Navajo County Democrats. Parrish and her guests will:

  • Recap the successful tactics from the 2020 Native organizing campaign that helped flip Arizona Blue;
  • Provide non-Native attendees an orientation to the cultural competency needed to support tribal organizing efforts;
  • Pinpoint the vital races at stake as Arizona’s GOP enacts voter suppression measures (did you know Mark Kelly must run again in 2022?);
  • Explain the urgency of our continued commitment to Native organizers working on Tribal lands, starting now.

Special guests include: Missa Foy, Chair of the Navajo County Democrats and Jandi Craig, White Mountain Apache Tribe, 1st Vice Chair of the Navajo County Democrats and a Native organizer during the 2020 campaign.
