Voter Education Program: “Make Your Voice A Megaphone”: Effective Advocacy at the State and Local Levels

January 24 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

The League of Women Voters of Northern Arizona, the result of a merger of the Greater Verde Valley and Flagstaff chapters, will present an informative and interactive Voter Education Program on how citizens can make their opinions known to legislators at the state and local levels. The program will feature three speakers.  Maryann Kenney, a member of both the LWV of Arizona’s Advocacy Committee and Legislative Analysis Team, will provide updates on important issues to be considered in the 2022 legislative session.  Cathy Sigmon, a co-founder of Civic Education Beyond Voting and Save Our Schools Arizona, will provide training on the AZ Legislature’s Request To Speak program.  Karen Strauch, a local activist, will outline her own experience providing citizen testimony.  There will be ample time for questions and answers.

Due to the Covid situation, the program will be held via Zoom on Monday, January 24, 2022.  To accommodate the schedules of working people, the program will be from 6:30 PM to 8 PM. The program is co-sponsored by: OLLI at Yavapai College Sedona-Verde Valley and the public libraries of Camp Verde, Cottonwood, and Sedona.

This program is free and everyone is welcome.  To register for the event and to receive the Zoom link, please contact .
