A. Stop the CocnocoPhillips’ Willow Project in the Western Arctic! Demand that
President Biden halt the approval of the largest pending oil and gas project anywhere on
Federal Lands. It is a carbon bomb that could pour hundreds of millions of tons of
greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and threaten Alaska Native communities’ air,
water and food. The Biden Administration have recently reinstated the roadless
protections to Alaska’s Tongass National Forest and finalized a 20-year mining ban next
to the Boundary Waters. However, in as little as 30 days the BLM is set to lock in a
decision to allow the Willow project. Please take a minute to let President Biden know
we want him to shut down this project.
B. Tell Eli Crane to oppose the “Fair Tax Act”!! This Orwellian-ly named act would
eliminate Social Security and Medicare’s dedicated funding, abolish the IRS and levy a
30% sales tax on everything! This obviously would shift our tax burden away from the
wealthy and onto the backs of ordinary Americans. This bill moves us one huge step
closer to accomplishing what Republicans have always wanted – the total abolishment
of Social Security and Medicare!! We deserve our Representative to vigorously oppose
such a diabolical ACT!! Let him know how you feel.
C. Tell the Biden Administration to support the new rule proposed by the Department of
Health and Human Services!! The Department of Health and Human Services has
proposed a rule to reverse a harmful Trump-era “refusals of care” rule that gave
hospitals, ambulances, drivers, schedulers and more the license to refuse care because
of personal beliefs. Because of this rule, hospitals have refused to treat or refer
someone who needs an abortion and pharmacies have denied patients birth control or
medications needed for miscarriages or chronic health conditions. It’s dangerous!! Tell
the Biden Administration that personal beliefs should never determine the care a
patient receives!!
D. Insist that Senator Sinema commit to confirming Gigi Sohn to the FCC! Right now
there is no real oversight of major companies that impact our daily lives, like Comcast,
AT&T, or News Corp (Fox). The reason is that the FCC is stuck in a 2-2 deadlock with 2
Republican commissioners who ideologically oppose any regulation and are committed
to stonewalling any action. Gigi Sohn is an immensely qualified candidate who has
fought tirelessly to make sure everyone in the US can access reliable and affordable
communications services. Tell Senator Sinema that Gigi Sohn is more that qualified to
be a commissioner and she must confirm her without delay.
