Legislative Alerts ~ Week of April 29, 2019

SB 1188 – OPPOSE – Allows purging of Permanent Early Voting List, taking the “Permanent” out of what voters anticipate in their voter registration.  Would decrease voter participation.

SB 1485 – SUPPORT – Puts a cap the School Tuition Credits from Corporations.  These credits take money out of the general fund which supports public schools.

SB 1173 – SUPPORT – If transitioning off of welfare, person can count education as well as employment to continue child care.

SB 1355 – SUPPORT – Expands AHCCCS for Diabetes Management.

BUDGET: Next up is the State Budget.  This is very important as it determines the character of our state and its values.  Begin to consider what YOUR priorities are for the budget.  Arizona House Democrats held a town hall presenting Democratic priorities this weekend. Arizona schools are still $800 million behind 2008 funding levels — time to get that straight!
