Update 10/20/2020: Celia Barotz has withdrawn from the race.
Over the weekend, former City Council Member and former Vice Mayor Celia Barotz announced she was in the race for Flagstaff Mayor. She joins current Flagstaff Council Member and former Vice Mayor Jamie Whelan in the race to succeed two-term Mayor Coral Evans, who has stepped aside to run the AZ House in LD-6. The election will be held on November 3, 2020. If one more candidate enters the race, there will be a primary to reduce the field to two candidates on the General Election ballot.
The race for Mayor, like all City Council elections, is non-partisan. Therefore, the role of the Coconino County Democratic Party is simply to educate voters. We do not endorse candidates in non-partisan municipal elections.
