Chispa AZ PAC Endorses EIGHT Candidates for State Legislature
Chispa AZ PAC today announced plans to invest in state legislative races, and endorsed the first nine candidates who will be receiving their new Clean Air, Clean Politics seal (attached). These candidates are Chispa AZ PAC’s first round of endorsements because they have the potential to “Flip the Switch” in the House and the Senate so that Arizonans can finally take back their power.
In order to receive Chispa AZ PAC’s seal, candidates must stand up for clean air — and stand against dirty politics. That means they must support renewable energy policies and pledge to reject political donations from monopoly utilities — including the PACs of APS, Southwest Gas, SRP, and TEP.
“Arizonans are ready to take back our power — and that means we need state legislators who will stand up to APS and other powerful corporate interests,” said Gloria Montaño, Political Director of Chispa AZ PAC. “We won’t get real change — for our environment or our politics — as long as our politicians are happy to take utility money, hang out at their happy hours, and push their pet projects.”
The candidates receiving Chispa AZ PAC’s Clean Air, Clean Politics Seal include:
- Minority Leader Charlene Fernandez (House-4)
- Mayor Coral Evans (House-6)
- Colonel (Ret.) Felicia French (Senate-6)
- Representative Kirsten Engel (Senate-10)
- Dr. Felipe Perez MD (House-11)
- JoAnna Mendoza (Senate-11)
- Representative Mitzi Epstein (House-18)
- Kathy Knecht (House-21)
