A. Demand that Eli Crane fund the government without the SAVE Act!! Republicans in the House are attempting to include the “Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act” in any government funding bill. A government shutdown will happen if funding is not passed by the end of September. Missing this deadline means delayed air travel and healthcare, threats to our environment and safety, and furloughs for millions of federal workers without pay. The SAVE Act is a blatant voter suppression tactic aimed at disenfranchised vulnerable communities, particularly minorities and low-income voters who may struggle to produce the necessary documentation. It is already illegal for non-citizens to vote in federal elections. The SAVE Act is simply an example of continuing Republican efforts to undermine our electoral system by making it harder for people to vote. Make Eli Crane do his job – fund the government with a clean appropriation bill!!
B. Demand our Representatives hold Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito accountable! Senate Democrats released a new report accusing Clarence Thomas of yet another ethics violation (and tax fraud) – making an addition to already long list of scandals. This time it was an undisclosed yacht trip to Russia paid for by the billionaire mega-donor, Harlan Crow. Both Thomas and Alito did not recurse themselves in the infamous Trump immunity case. Thomas’ wife, Ginni, attended the January 6 Stop the Steal rally and pleaded with White House staff to help Trump overturn the election. Alito was flying a Stop the Steal style flag over his house. The ruling giving presidents absolute immunity along with Thomas’ long list of ethics violations, and Alito’s corruption scandals all add up to a clear case for impeachment. We must have justice and our Representatives need to ACT to make the Supreme Court accountable!
