I wanted to write a brief note to say that I believe Senator Sinema’s tenure in the Senate has been measured and focused. It’s something that is rare these days of partisan rhetoric and finger-pointing. Her demeanor has shown that she is the perfect person to fill Senator McCain’s centrist shoes. She stays below the radar on the big issues and works to solve smaller ones.
A great example is her position on Medicare For All and government-run health care. Instead of endorsing these grand and improbable ideas, she works on legislation to make fixes to the Affordable Care Act and increase rural access to healthcare. She also takes reasonable positions on our border, immigration and veterans affairs.
I don’t agree with her on everything, but I know that she is guided by how to best solve a problem, and that’s all we can ask for from our representatives.
