USE RTS 1.0 or 2.0 ON THESE BILLS
LD 7, 6 and 1 LEGISLATOR SPONSORED BILLS
SB 1280 – OPPOSE – Finchem – Would make the “cast vote record” (a receipt of everything scanned by a voting machine) a public record. Election deniers insist baselessly that this document will detect fraudulent voting patterns. This has previously been vetoed by Governor Hobbs.
SB 1375 – OPPOSE – Finchem – Would force recorders to let anyone download voter registration rolls for free. This would greatly compromise our election integrity.
HB 2594 – OPPOSE – Blackman – Would remove control of the Governor’s Regulatory Review Council from the Governor and give it to the legislature. This council reviews state agency rules.
HB 2606 – OPPOSE – NGUYEN – Would appropriate $50 Million for targeting people at the border with border enforcement actions. Would likely add to profiling people of color.
SB 1268 – OPPOSE – Rogers – Would require hospitals that accept Medicare to include on admission or registration forms a space for the patient to indicate their U.S. citizenship status. This sets a dangerous precedent and will discourage injured or ill people from getting treatment for fear of persecution.
SB 1020 – OPPOSE – ROGERS – Would prohibit universities and community colleges from banning ANYONE with a concealed weapons permit from possessing, storing or transporting guns on campus.
BALLOT MEASURES
SCR 1006 – OPPOSE – Would remove voter approval of state trust land exchanges. Could lead to backroom deals that could drain our groundwater or rivers.
SCR 1014 – OPPOSE – Would mandate permanent income tax cuts of 50% if Arizona ever has a budget surplus. Another way to reduce the general fund. Also companion bill SB 1318.
HCR 2021 – OPPOSE – Would restrict cities from taxing food intended for home use. Further constraining cities ability to meet revenue needs.
HCR 2025 – OPPOSE – Would require a 60% majority to pass citizen initiatives or referendums – pretty much ending the ability for citizen initiatives to succeed.
HCR 2037 – OPPOSE – A ballot proposal that would radically change Arizona gun laws. It would repeal all the bans on everything currently defined as a “prohibited weapon” in AZ statute. Would make legal fully automatic weapons, bombs, grenades, Molotov cocktails, improvised explosive devices, etc.
HCR 2055 – OPPOSE – A ballot measure that would ask voters to declare that drug cartels are terrorist organizations. A do-nothing bill, its prime intent seems to be to clutter up the ballot for no good reason.
TAXATION
SB 1085 – OPPOSE – Would exempt private jets from sales taxes. Further reducing the general fund.
HB 2704 – OPPOSE – Would give a $1 Billion tax payer funds over 30 years to renovate Chase Field for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

VOTING RIGHTS
SB 1152 – OPPOSE – Would restrict early ballot distribution to 21 days before the election instead of the current 27 days. Another way to disenfranchise voters.
SB 1319 – SUPPORT – Would result in smaller counties to count ballots much faster by hiring temporary workers.
SB 1455 – OPPOSE – Prohibits anyone who is a candidate and has election administration responsibilities from engaging in those activities. This would man that county recorders or the Secretary of State can’t oversee elections while running for office.
SB 1463 – OPPOSE – Would require initiative petitions to include a list of existing statutes that are likely to conflict or be impacted by the current initiative. Creates a logistical and financial burden on citizen initiatives.
HB 2005 – OPPOSE – Would allow county recorders to more easily to move voters to inactive status.
HB 2154 – OPPOSE – Would remove the requirement to try and contact a voter to update their address if a ballot notice is returned undeliverable.
HB 2206 – OPPOSE – Would limit Arizona’s participation in ERIC, a multi-state system that weeds out duplicate, deceased or suspicious voter registrations.
HB 2440 – OPPOSE – Would prohibit the prosecution of a county supervisor for failure to certify an election!

A clear attempt to harass providers about future liability for gender transitions.

HB 2099 – OPPOSE – Would require the Governor and the Attorney General to cooperate fully with Trump’s “mass deportation” orders.
EDUCATION
SB 1226 – OPPOSE – Would require district and charter schools to restrict the student access to the internet or phones during the school day. Such policies should be left to local schools and not made into some top-down legislative action.

HB 2700 – OPPOSE – Would require state high schools to stress the fact that the Gulf of Mexico has been renamed the Gulf of America!!
HB 2724 – OPPOSE – Would allow public schools to allow “patriotic youth groups” to address students during the first part of a school year. Could lead to indoctrination attempts by certain groups.
