  1. Demand our Senators do all they can to REJECT the “One, Big, Beautiful” (per Trump) Budget reconciliation measure currently under consideration. This measure is just awful, full of terrible measures that may not get a full public hearing.  It includes language that would allow the Secretary of the Treasure to declare a nonprofit a terrorist organization (without proof) and cancel their tax-exempt status – hence curbing free speech.  It includes language that would prohibit any state from making or enforcing any laws regulating artificial intelligence (AI) for the next 10 years – hence putting the rights of Big Tech over the rights of U.S. consumers.  This measure cuts $351 Billion from student aid, it cuts $50 Billion from the Federal Employee Retirement System, it slashes funding for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau by 70%, it contains language that rolls back a widespread arena of climate-focused programs and clean energy tax incentives, it cuts $300 Billion from the food assistance program, SNAP.  This measure includes language that would give Republicans enhanced ability to roll back any regulation they don’t like.  It contains language that would limit judges’ authority to hold government officials in contempt of court.  It contains language that would divert $10 Billion per year from public education to fund a private school vouchers scheme.  The measure drastically cuts funding for Medicaid which provides health insurance for 72 million low-income and disabled Americans!  The measure also includes provisions that mandates new drilling leases in the Gulf of Mexico and resumes leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, it calls for 4 million acres of new coal leasing and a 25% increase in logging, it includes the sale of 11,000 acres of public lands in Utah and Nevada, and it includes widespread reversals of environmental review protocols to facilitate all these expanded leasing options.  Most of this is being done to cut spending to allow for a $4 Trillion tax cut for the wealthiest Americans at OUR expense.  Furthermore, because of the nature of the overall dastardly budget measure it would lead to over $500 Billion cuts to Medicare as well!!!!  Demand that our Senators actively and forcefully REJECT this budget measure NOW using all the procedural and political acumen at their disposal!!
