As we’re focusing on how to change our legislature, it seems timely to revisit some facts about LD-6. Our district is one of the eight most competitive in the state. If we can flip all three seats from Republican to Democratic in LD-6, it will make a huge difference for the entire state.
All of the Democratic candidates value education. None is facing a primary challenge so we are free to promote them now. Learn about Wade Carlisle (Senate) and Felicia French and Bobby Tyler for House.
The key to winning this district is increasing midterm election turnout in Flagstaff and Sedona — the major population centers of the district. You can help us do that — we give you three options for action at the end of this post.
Legislative District 6 encompasses parts of Coconino, Navaho, Gila, and Yavapai County.
It includes Flagstaff, Payson, Sedona, Camp Verde, Cottonwood, Snowflake, Clarkdale, Holbrook, Williams, Star Valley, Jerome, Tusayan, Taylor and many unincorporated areas.
It contains 131,256 registered voters, with a party breakdown of 37% Republican, 28% Democrat, and 34% Other.
It is one of the 8 Legislative Districts (out of 30) which is NOT one party dominated (meaning it is a competitive district with less than 10 percent difference between registered voters of different parties).
