Seventy-three percent of Americans support aspects of the American Rescue Plan — compared to just 19 percent who oppose it — including 71 percent of Independents and 53 percent of Republicans. This level of support is nearly identical to the 72 percent supportive of the Rescue Plan just two weeks ago. And even among those who disapprove of Biden’s overall job performance, a plurality expresses support for the American Rescue Plan (46 percent support, 42 percent oppose).
However, most Americans have not heard much about it: Fewer than two in five Americans say that they have heard a lot or some about the plan across party lines (37 percent), and even among Democrats, just 43 percent report hearing a lot about it.
