A. Respectfully request our House Representative, Eli Crane, change his Newsletter

Clearly such a statement goes counter to good taste and appeals to those who foster violence and hatred. Ask that Mr. Crane attempt to represent all of his constituents and not pander to the extreme right so overtly. Mr. Crane, in his newsletter, is proud of the fact that he wants to abolish the Department of Education, that he wants to impeach the Secretary of Homeland Security, that he wants to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act. We need to demand that he at least attempt to GOVERN and not just grand stand. We deserve better!!
B. Insist that our House Representative support a “Discharge Petition” to get the Debt
Limit raised ASAP. A “Discharge Petition” is a procedure where 218 members of the
House can bring a bill to the floor for a vote in spite of any objection by the House
Speaker. To get this one, five Republicans would need to join all of the Democrats to get
this done. If our Representative is a true patriot, he will support doing something that
will preserve our countries financial system and standing in the world. We deserve
better!!
C. Ask our House Representative to support the CLEAN ACT! This act would codify the
Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE), strengthen the office and give it real power to
investigate and enforce consequences for misconduct. The OCE is an independent
House ethics watchdog that was created in 2008. It exists in the House rules package,
not by law, and has to be reauthorized every two years as new House members are
elected. The Republicans in this Congress attempted to weaken the office by imposing
outrageously tight arbitrary term limits to remove experienced Democrats on the board
who have demonstrated sound integrity and dedication and withholding funding for
staff. Fortunately Democrats were able to act quickly to head off some of these
attempts but we need this office enshrined in law so it isn’t subject to whimsical and
corrupt manipulation. Demand our Representative support the CLEAN ACT!!
D. Demand our House Representative support the EACH Act!!! The Each Act is the Equal
Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance. This is the first piece of abortion
access legislation introduced in the new Congress. It would end the Hyde Amendment –
an archaic, decades-old provision that bans abortion coverage for people enrolled in
Medicaid and other federal programs – and the EACH Act would prohibit the federal
government from interfering with private insurance companies that choose to cover
abortion care. Insist that our representative support the EACH Act!!
