- Demand our House Representative finally get to work and do the hard job of governing for a change!! This Republican House has been one of the least effective in history. They have passed only about 25 bills in all of 2023!! There are serious issues that need to be addressed and working on a no-evidence impeachment of President Biden or taking boondoggle trips to the Texas/Mexico border isn’t among those. Instead there is funding the government since on January 19 funding for transportation, housing, energy, agriculture, and veterans affairs ends. Then on February 2 the rest of the government funding ends. The 2018 Farm Bill that covers food and farm aid expired in 2023 and MUST be renewed!! There is a need to provide supplemental funding for Israel, Ukraine and the southern border between the U.S. and Mexico. In addition we need to provide humanitarian assistance for Palestinian civilians in Gaza. Indeed there is much to be done and it’s time our House Representative decided to become an adult and DO THE JOB he was sent there to do.!!
- Insist that all of our Federal Representatives, both in the House and Senate, work to strengthen our Democracy through supporting voting rights everywhere. They need to support the Freedom to Vote Act, (S.1/H.R.11), the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (H.R. 14), the Democracy Restoration Act (S. 1677/H.R. 4987), the Expanding the Vote Act (S. 2960/H.R. 5295), the Youth Voting Rights Act (S. 2985/H.R. 5293), the People Over Long Lines (POLL) Act (H.R. 5291), and the Time Off to Vote Act (H.R. 5322). There are others as well that will support our Democracy through strengthen our voting system. Our Democracy is under serious threat and we MUST make it stronger and more secure!!
