RE: Demand our Senators to Publicly Support the $3.5 Trillion Budget Blueprint Plan via Reconciliation. This is the first step to getting to the social infrastructure and environmental legislation.
President Biden and Senate Democrats have just announced a $3.5 trillion social infrastructure and environmental plan that would massively extend the reach of public education and health care taxing the rich and large corporations and tackling the warming of the planet. This blueprint funding would be spread over 10 years so does not represent a significant annual increase in overall spending. The New York Times stated it “could be transformative, steering government largess toward poor and middle-class families in amounts not seen since the New Deal.” NYT, 7/14/21. Adopting the budget blueprint in the coming days is the first step in pushing forward these huge advances and complements the bi-partisan bricks and mortar infrastructure bill. The blueprint is the first step and must be agreed to by all 50 US Senators through the reconciliation process. According to the New York Times on July 15, 2021, Senator Sinema “hung back” on whether she would support the blueprint. She needs to stop grandstanding!
Sample text or message for Sen. Sinema: My name is XXXX and I live in XXXXX. I’m a mainstream Democrat living and voting in XXXXX. I was surprised to read in the NYT on July 15 that you have “hung back” on endorsing the $3.5 trillion budget blueprint. Why? Our world is on fire, and we need you to push forward serious funding to combat global warming, to expand access to Pre K and community college education, and expand access to health care. It’s time that the super-wealthy pay their fair share for these needed investments as income disparities and threats to our environment have never been greater. Please do not grandstand on this issue. We need all 50 senators. Come out right now and announce your support for the blueprint. My future vote for you depends on your position on this.
