Northern Arizona depends on science. From the Discovery Telescope to the NAU science labs to the Naval Observatory to providing power on tribal lands to preserving wildlife in the Grand Canyon and back to NACET where new industries are incubated, our economy, our quality of life, and the future of our children depends on science.
The local scientific community has organized a science march in coordination with the National March for Science this Saturday. Come out to support science!
The March for Science – Flagstaff will begin at Thorpe Park, at the south ramada (Thorpe Rd. & Santa Fe Ave.), on April 22, 2017, at 2:00 pm. The March will proceed down Aspen Street to Humphreys Street, and down Humphreys Street to the Flagstaff City Hall lawn at the corner of Humphreys Street and Route 66. Once at City Hall, we will rally with speakers from our community, in celebration of our passion for science and to support the scientific community.
The Flagstaff March for Science is NOT JUST FOR SCIENTISTS – it is critical for anyone who supports science, science education, and science policy to join in this effort and stand with us as we advocate for our future.
Sponsored by the Committee for Evidence-Based Action and the local scientific community in coordination with the national March for Science.
