And we have a great bill to start with: Senator Sylvia Allen (R-LD 6) has introduced SB 1082, which would prohibit any sex education before 7th grade, strips the word homosexuality, and mandates a focus on abstinence. Instead of ensuring that our kids’ education is medically accurate, the bill seeks to roll back decades of progress.
It will be heard in the Senate Education Committee, which Sen Allen chairs, on Tuesday, 1/14/20, at 2 pm in SHR1.
We recommend opposing this incredibly restrictive and backward bill.
