SB 1138 – Warren Petersen (R-12) – OPPOSE – Would ban medical personnel from helping anyone under the age of 18 with their gender transition.
HB 2492 – Jake Hoffman (R-12) – OPPOSE – Would require proof of residency to register to vote at least for the federal only ballot – a clear violation of federal law.
SB 1165 – Nancy Barto (R-15) – OPPOSE – USE RTS – A reprise of the 2020 and 2021 bills to bar transgender girls from women’s sports at public and private schools, community colleges and state universities. Discriminatory bills like this are not just morally wrong they are bad for business – a ban would stop Arizona from hosting NCAA events!!
SB 1164 – Nancy Barto (R-15) – OPPOSE – Would ban abortions after 15 weeks!!
CALL/EMAIL/TWEET GOVERNOR DUCEY TO DEMAND HIS VETO!!!!
BILLS SPONSORED BY WENDY ROGERS, WALT BLACKMAN, or BRENDA BARTON

HB 2746 – STRIKER for HB 2033 – Walt Blackman – SUPPORT – Would ban juvenile courts from billing kids or their parents for detention, foster care, treatment and education program, or health care while in detention.
EDUCATION
SB 1211 – Nancy Barto (R-15) – OPPOSE – Would require teachers to post a list of EVERY SINGLE item teachers use or discuss with students!!
SB 1269 – Michele Udall (R-25) – OPPOSE – STRIKER! – NEW! – Would widen the school funding gap between wealthy and impoverished schools by changing the school funding formula to allow wealthy school districts to raise property taxes in ways poorer school districts could not. This is a huge change and would disproportionately harm rural schools.
HB 2278 – STRIKER – OPPOSE = Would significantly expand the amount of tax dollars that are being shoved into School Tuition Organization (STO) vouchers – further expanding a program that started at $4.5 million and has grown to $200 million – a clear attack on quality public schools and a direct subsidy for wealthy people to attend private and religious institutions.
HB 2284 -STRIKER – Would revive HB 2808 – Michelle Udall (R-25) – OPPOSE – Would punish poorly performing schools by shutting them down – without real tools to help those schools succeed.
HCR 2001 – Steve Kaiser (R-15) – OPPOSE – Would amend the state constitution to include the bill to halt the teaching of critical race theory or other racial discrimination information in our public schools.
HB 2008 – Quang Nguyen (R-1) – OPPOSE – Would require students to study communism in a way to instill fear of the ideology – would require the state to work with Koch funded schools at the state universities to develop standards.
HB 2177 – Michelle Udal (R-25) – SUPPORT – A modest set of common-sense safety revisons for charter schools. It increases the categories of employees who need a fingerprint clearance card, tightens the timeline for revoking a charter. Arizona charter schools have seen the most lax oversight in the nation!! This is a small step toward accountability.
HB 2448 – Quang Nguyen (R-1) – OPPOSE – Would require public schools to provide firearms training sometime between grades 6 and 12.
IMMIGRATION
SB 1718 – David Gowan (R-14) – OPPOSE – Would spend $1.1 million and a number of full-time equivalent positions on the Border Security Fund – seems to be another attempt to spend money and resources on a border wall.

HB 2637 – STRIKER – OPPOSE – Would ban financial institutions from having a choice about who they loan to – would allow polluters and gun makers equal access to financial institutions!
PUBLIC SAFETY
HB 2166 – Steve Kaiser (R-15) – OPPOSE – Would exempt guns and firearm equipment from sales tax since such items are “necessities”!
FREE SPEECH
HB 2473 – STRONGLY OPPOSE – if a company or person supports a boycott the firearms industry you are prohibited from a government contract in Arizona!!!!
