Working through the dead of night, House Committees are rushing to “repeal and replace” before the Congressional Budget Office and other thoughtful analysts can decipher and explain the bill to the American people. This is how authoritarian regimes work.
Among other amendments rejected last night was one that would have preserved subsidies for lower income people to pay deductibles, co-pays, and other out-of-pocket medical expenses. So, we’re headed back to a land where people must choose between food and medicine.
