Day 3 of the January 6 Committee Hearings featured more testimony from members of Trump’s inner circle as well as from other conservative Republicans. As Jamie Raskin, a member of the committee said:
“New evidence is breaking every single day now. Suddenly, a lot of people want to tell the truth.”
As historian Heather Cox Richardson explained, “The window for getting onto the good side of the investigation by cooperating with it is closing, and the story the congress members are laying out makes it clear that those sticking with Trump are quite likely in legal trouble.” It’s good news that they are finally coming clean and telling the truth of the conspiracy that led to the attack on our Capitol. It would have been better had they spoken out in the weeks between the November 2020 election and that fateful day.
