- Let our US House Representative know how you feel about his recent activities. Eli Crane was awarded “Champion of Limited Government” by the Institute of Legislative Analysis – so we now know he doesn’t support regular Americans. He got an amendment added to the 2025 Military Construction Spending Appropriation that removes 250,000 former vets from the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System simply because they are veterans. Maybe they were on the list for a reason – but no matter, they now will be able to get all the guns they want. He co-sponsored a bill to prevent the immigration of anyone disposed by the Israeli-Gaza conflict – so specifically aimed at anti-Palestinian immigration. He co-sponsored a resolution to remove any reference to sexual orientation or gender identity in Title IX implementation. He co-sponsored an act to repeal the 30 day eviction notice requirement implemented during COVID – so now he wants people to be evicted immediately. He co-sponsored legislation to condemn the FDA for easing prescription access to the Plan B abortion medication. He co-sponsored a bill to negate President Biden’s recent ruling to expand the implementation of overtime pay to thousands of Americans. Maybe Eli Crane needs to hear just what you think of his agenda!!
- Urge President Biden and his Administration to adopt the plan for Tribal Management of the Bears Ears National Monument! This unique and historic approach for Tribal Management of a US National Monument is the result of a two-year collaboration among the five Tribes of the Bears Ears Inter-Tribal Coalition (Ute Indian Tribe, Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, Zuni Tribe, Hope Tribe and the Navajo Nation) and federal partners of the BLM and the US Forest Service. The approach protects wildlife habitat; responsibly manages access to the monument; upholds the sovereignty of the Tribes and honors their personal, traditional and cultural connections to the land; and reflects time-tested best practices for land management. Ask President Biden to fully support this unique management model!
- Ask President Biden to do whatever he can to ease the suffering of the Sudanese people! Sudan is experiencing increased violence as two major military forces continue to fight each other for power. Over 14,000 civilians have been killed, many in deliberate and indiscriminate attacks. More than 10 million people have been displaced and 14 million children are in desperate need of humanitarian assistance. Specifically we need to ask President Biden to: fully support his appointed Special Envoy to strengthen efforts to protect civilians; call out governments implicated in arming those responsible for the violence; work with other donor countries to scale up humanitarian assistance; support evidence collection to bring accountability to those responsible; engage and support the governments of neighboring countries to help refugees. Urge President Biden to speak out about the crisis in Sudan and make a difference!
- Demand our Members of Congress resist any attempt to overturn the recent ATF rule that closed the gun show loophole and that requires background checks for all gun sales! Just a few weeks ago the ATF updated the rule that closed loopholes to make it harder to get a gun without a background check. In the past tens of thousands of guns were sold each year by unlicensed sellers who did not perform background checks. Most Americans want comprehensive gun law reform that protects us. The gun lobby is intensely pressuring Congress to stop this increase in background check requirements. Insist our Members of Congress fully support the background check requirement from ATF!
