Monthly meetings of all precinct committee members are where “the rubber meets the road” on organizing for victory in upcoming elections. The Coconino County Democratic Central Committee, as defined by the County Party By-Laws and Arizona statute, consists of the entire number of duly elected or appointed precinct committeepersons (PC’s) of the Democratic Party in Coconino County. These individuals are the voice of the Democratic Party in their neighborhoods and among their colleagues and friends. We meet each month to train, to exchange ideas, to learn about issues, to listen to candidates and other speakers, and to plan for the next election.
In addition, the by-laws require that the Central Committee meet quarterly to conduct the business of the party. These business meetings are incorporated into the monthly organizing meetings and require a quorum of PCs to be present in person or by proxy to transact any business of the party that requires authorization by the central committee. At these quarterly business meetings, the Executive Committee will report to the PCs on Ex Com activities and the state of the treasury.
