Much as I have enjoyed David Wolf’s column over the years, I must take issue with his recent piece: “Neither doom nor perfection post-Earth Day.”

… unlike mere opinions, conspiracy theories and other unfounded notions, science is evidence-based and independently verifiable. Science has always progressed in fits and starts, but when not supported by the observed facts, it has always self-corrected in the face of new evidence. That’s more than one can say about many of our current political leaders.
