Coconino County voters that may have health concerns or worry about the coronavirus can participate in emergency early voting on Monday, March 16.
Because of heightened health concerns about the spread of the coronavirus County Recorder Patty Hansen asked the Board of Supervisors to approve additional emergency early voting locations for Monday, March 16. The Board approved the request at a special meeting held on Friday, March 13.
Voters taking advantage of emergency early voting will be required to sign a form stating that they have an emergency and need to vote on Monday, March 16, but they do not need to disclose the specifics of their emergency. “Voters that want to avoid being around large groups of people are being considered as having an unforeseen emergency and will be allowed to vote on Monday,” said Recorder Hansen.
Voters with non-health related emergencies, such as having to be out of town on Election Day, can also vote on Monday at one of these locations.
The locations of Monday’s emergency early voting locations are:
- County Elections Office, 110 E Cherry Ave, Flagstaff;
- Tuba City Elections Office, Main Street, Tuba City;
- Page City Hall, 697 Vista Ave, Page;
- Sedona City Hall, 102 Roadrunner Dr, Sedona; and
- Williams City Hall, 113 S 1st St, Williams.
Emergency early voting ends at 5 pm at all of these locations.
Voters that have received their early ballots through the mail may drop off their ballots at any of the emergency early voting locations on Monday or at any polling place or vote center on Election Day or at ballot drop boxes located in the parking lot of the downtown Flagstaff Elections Office or in front of the County’s Health & Human Services building, 2625 King St, Flagstaff. Voted early ballots must be received by 7 pm on Election Day to be counted.
The Elections Office will also be providing drive up/ballot drop off service on Election Day from 7 am to 7 pm in the parking lot of their downtown Flagstaff office, 110 E Cherry Ave. Voters will be able to drop off their ballots without having to get out of their vehicle.
The Elections Office has trained the election board workers on the necessary precautions and guidelines to follow, as well providing each voting location disinfectant materials, to ensure that our workers and voters are safe and comfortable when they vote.
