A. Demand our House Representative support the EACH Act!!! The Each Act is the Equal
Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance. This is the first piece of abortion
access legislation introduced in the new Congress. It would end the Hyde Amendment –
an archaic, decades-old provision that bans abortion coverage for people enrolled in
Medicaid and other federal programs – and the EACH Act would prohibit the federal
government from interfering with private insurance companies that choose to cover
abortion care. Insist that our representative support the EACH Act!!
B. Urge our Senators to support the Clean Water Act Allotment Modernization Act! This
act, cosponsored by Mark Kelly, would require the EPA to revamp a 36 year old formula
used to allocate resources among states. It is estimated that the revamped allotment
formula would triple the amount of funding Arizona receives for water infrastructure
and other projects. In a 2016 report the EPA said the current funding formula wasn’t
adequate and didn’t reflect the water quality needs of most states. The agency said
Arizona had the greatest need for more Clean Water Act funding. If signed into law the
allocation changes would begin in 2024. Let BOTH our Senators know that we want
this act passed!!
C. Enough is enough!! The National Women’s Law Center Action Fund is calling on our
elected representatives to protect and support women and families, specially women of
color, LGBTQ+ people and women with low incomes. We need to reclaim reproductive
freedom, secure high-quality and accessible child care, fight for equal pay, protect
workers, and keep students in school. We can’t afford any more attempts from
conservatives to roll back our hard-fought rights for women, LGBTQ+ people and people
of color. Demand our Representatives fight for these critical issues NOW.
