In his inaugural address, Donald Trump promised to “drain the swamp” in Washington.
The “swamp” has been mostly drained, but it’s not the one Trump had in mind; instead it’s the one he himself stands in knee-deep. Some of his “swamp companions” have already been removed and can now add “convicted felon” to their resumes. Trump’s close association with these individuals speaks volumes about his own lack of moral and ethical values.
It will take some time to drain the Washington swamp of its last inhabitant since Republican senators just decided that Trump deserved to have his lease extended. By allowing him to remain there, these senators demonstrated that they too, like their president, have difficulties distinguishing right from wrong.
