Results of the LD7 Meeting to Nominate Candidates for Appointment to State Senate

The resignation of State Senator Jamescita Peshlakai triggered a statutory process by which the Coconino County Board of Supervisors appoints someone to fill the vacancy. The first step in the process was for our LD7 Precinct Committee Members to nominate three qualified candidates to the Board of Supervisors. This was completed Tuesday, January 4th via Zoom, using Election Buddy for the voting process.

Thank you to all those involved – Candidates William Diak, Theresa Hatathlie, Mae Peshlakai, Deydrek Scott, Jerry Williams, Pearl Yellowman Caye, and Gwen Ward for their willingness to serve, Parliamentarian Jeanne Lunn for conducting the election, and a special thanks to Deydrek Scott, Charlene Nez and Donna Hanley for their efforts to contact the elected Precinct Committee members in Legislative District 7 to ensure a quorum of eligible voters.

The meeting recording may be viewed here.

The results of the final voting may be viewed here. Our nominees are Theresa Hatathlie, Gwen Ward, and Pearl Yellowman Caye.
