We’ve been hearing from people that it’s taking a long time to vote because the ballot is long. Make it easy, provide your friends with the Sample Ballot. Stop into our office to pick up a supply — we’re open from 10-6 every day from now through November 6 — and with extended hours on weekends.
If they want to delve into the details on the ballot propositions, refer them to this page of our website. They will find the official ballot language and arguments for and against each proposition as well as our official endorsement (we did not take a position on everything, but there is information about everything.).
Judges: We like all the Coconino County judges. They are experienced and do their jobs with integrity. Our ballots ask to vote yes or no to retain two Arizona Supreme Court judges. We’ve not taken a position on these, but here’s some info:
Clint Bolick is one of the appointments made by Gov. Ducey when the Legislature increased the size of the court from five to seven. He had never been a judge before and was Vice President of the Goldwater Institute.
John Pelander III was appointed by Gov. Jan Brewer and has been on the Court since 2009. In 2012, the Arizona Tea Party Patriots tried to get him recalled over some of his opinions, but they failed.
School Board: The party has not made endorsements for School Board; however, the Flagstaff Education Association has endorsed Carol Haden and Anne Dunno.
Please vote for all the Democrats on your ballot (except Flagstaff City Council where there are three four Democrats running for 3 seats — don’t overvote or your vote won’t count.)
- It’s a long ballot — you can learn more about the Democratic candidates here.
- Remember in Arizona legislative district House races there are two seats so vote for both of the two Democrats on the ballot. In LD-6, that’s Felicia French and Bobby Tyler.
- Likewise, for Corporation Commission, vote for 2 — Sandra Kennedy and Kiana Sears.
Vote early! There is tremendous voter enthusiasm this election; don’t find yourself in a long line on Election Day when you’ve got early voting options!
